Wonderful hosts and charming spot for our two day stay visiting Skye. An excellent breakfast to start our day of touring in what is one my favourite spots in Scotland.

Tingle Creek is in a beautiful, quiet setting within a stones throw of the water. We had a sea view. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate, cosy and quiet. Breakfast was a hot or cold buffet and probably the best we had had during our trip around Scotland. Easy parking and in easy reach of the bridge to the Isle of Skye. We popped over for a meal.

Tingle Creek is set in a beautiful place with stunning views from the lounge and patio. Our room even had a photo worthy view.Dennis, the person who served us for breakfast, was particularly helpful when we made dietary needs known. He also gave us a couple suggestions for walks close to Broadford on Skye that we're just our speed.Nicely decorated room, clean and inviting.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable, I night stay in Tingle Creek Hotel. We have stayed here a number of times in the past and have never been disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff, terrific breakfast and some rooms with a view of Raasay and Skye. The only minor, negative comment I'd make is that the bar/lounge area now closes at 9.30pm, which meant that by the time we returned from dinner in Plockton, the bar/lounge was closed.

The Hotel lounge is stunning, the dining room has lovely views over the sea. The artwork and decoration reflecting the area is beautifully done. Breakfast was again, the best we had. Decking area fab for viewing Skye. Our room waslovely with spacious bath/shower and quality scottish toiletries. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome at Tingle Creek Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive, our room very comfortable and the food excellent. In addition there was an outside seating area and large, comfortable lounge/bar area, both of which we used during our stay. This was the best hotel we stayed at during our NC500 tour and one which we could highly recommend.

A very warm reception from Andy and a very comfortable hotel. We enjoyed a good dinner and an excellent breakfast served in the dining room with a super view of Skye in the distance. Very fairly priced. Top marks for having plug sockets next to the bed with integrated usb sockets. The number of places we have visited with no way to charge a phone overnight made this one stand out! It's a tiny thing really but gets a big tick from us.

We spent the night at Tingle Creek on our way farther north and so did not have time to explore the area further. The hotel was small, personal, very tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed. The guests' lounge was cozy and spacious and warm. But the real standout here was the food.We had the lamb and venison and both were superb.A dietary allergy was easily accomodated.Breakfast was excellent;I'm not usually one for black pudding but this too was great.

Watched otters in the sea one morning from my room. Fab.The hotel was very clean and the rooms had everything we needed. Bathroom/shower was great. The owner was very helpful and conscious of the COVID regs, so we felt very safe. Breakfasts were tasty and plenty of everything. Would stay again.

We stayed at Tingle Creek on our way home from the Western Isles. What a lovely, albeit short, visit. The care and attention we received were excellent. Andy in particular was a great host. We arrived quite late, but in time for our dinner booking and the food was fabulous: fish dishes for both of us. We were leaving early next morning for a long drive home and Andy prepared us breakfast to go: sausage and bacon sandwiches and a flask of coffee. Delicious butties and hot coffee which we tucked into an hour or so into our journey.

Great location, very comfortable rooms, recently refurbished bathrooms. Views were amazing and only 5 minutes from Skye Bridge. The Manager/Proprietor, Andy, was very helpful and accommodating. We ran late from our driving trip and he booked an evening meal for us at a restaurant en-route (which we did not need in the end and he cancelled for us).

What a fabulous hotel, after staying in around ten others on our NC500 trip Tingle Creek stood out in top position. We were greeted with a personal cherry welcome despite arriving late and our room had fantastic views across the black isles, was beautifully clean and everything we needed. Dinner in the spacious restaurant was first class, outstanding food from a broad menu at a very reasonable price, unlike some others we had experienced. The attention to detail and personal interest taken by the owners is impressive. We wouldn't hesitate to return and recoimmend to others. Thanks for having us!

We stayed for a couple of nights in July 2021. We found the host (Andy) very welcoming and accommodating. The room we were in was well equipped and very clean with an excellent shower. We thought the breakfast menu choice was excellent. The dinner that they served was very good quality also. One thing we felt that could have been improved was the amount of staff available to work the bar etc. However, this didn't detract from the stay. I have scored this a 4 but it's more like a 4.5 and if we need a hotel in the area again we will pick this one!

Room was great: again nice decor, and had a great view. We ate in once and food was excellent.Andy the owner was so attentive and friendly. Other friends from Inverness had recommended Tingle Creek to us and we would certainly do the same. Great area for coastal walks (check out WalkHighlands website), and nearby Plockton is beautiful. It has lovely views of the sea from the dining room and is a 15 minute drive to plockton which has aa few nice seafood restaurants / pubs.Tingle creek was clean and has been recently done up. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. We ate in the restaurant one night and were impressed by the venison and lamb. Drinks were expensive though. The location is good and it’s 30 minutes drive to really good walks such as the 5 sisters of kintail (a stunning ridge walk). Overall highly recommended with lots more walking to do around the area or for easy access to skye

Perfect stop for the last night of our drive of the NC500. Andy and the team looked after us very well despite the Covid restrictions. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and dinner/breakfast both excellent - well done, we've already recommended you to friends and we'll be back!

Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff serving good food and drink. Nicely appointed room with a good bathroom and Jolomo prints. Hotel was very well organised from a COVID standpoint and dinner and breakfast were both very good quality. The restaurant area is large and open and whilst not helped by COVID restrictions lacks a bit of character and intimacy.

The Tingle Creek Hotel has been recently renovated and it has been made lovely. The lounge & dining area were comfy with views out across the bay. The bedroom was lovely, bed very comfortable and the ensuite nice. The food is superb. If there had been a vacancy for the bext might I would have taken it.

The hotel is a mile or so outside Kyle tucked away in a very pleasant bay. Its location can form an ideal base to visit Skye and the far west coast with all its inlet bays and single track roads. In these difficult times, you need to be reassured regarding adequate protection from Covid.Andrew and his team have made great efforts to ensure guests remain as safe as possible. The rooms are of a good size, clean, airy and very comfortable. Breakfast is more than enough to sustain you through the day with plenty of choices. We ate in the restaurant for three nights and the food was well nicelycooked andpresentedIn our experience, you know when the accommodation is good when you return after a hard day and sleep well ready for tomorrow

We booked an overnight stay on our way to the boat at Stranraer and thought we could see a little of the area and The Isle of Skye while we were there. Scenery is awesome .We received a very warm welcome to Tingle Creek when we arrived. Checked in and got our room key! A very nice, not overly big but adequate sized bedroom overlooking the lovely bay. Immaculate! Good sized bathroom also immaculate. Tea/coffee etc in the room . Great! We ate dinner later.... delicious ! Breakfast also very tasty. This may be a family run hotel , I don’t know but they run a tight ship!!A very good 3* hotel which we would have no problem in recommending.Thank you .... we enjoyed our short stay and wish the weather had been better. Beautiful area. Hope we can return next year.

The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming despite the restrictions of Covid. Mine host was at pains to ensure a good stay and was always affable and available to cater to his guests needs. He also poured a mean pint which is neither here nor there but very important to this particular guest. Food was excellent, breakfast by mine hostess was spot on and the Geordie delivery of a Full Scottish breakfast was, well, Scottish. Highlight - dinner. Chef is superb. Samphire is rediscovered.Go! Additionally, for access to Plockton or Skye, this is the ideal hotel situation.

We spent two nights at the Tingle Creek Hotel after spending a week elsewhere in Scotland. Our main purpose for booking the hotel was it's proximity to the Skye Bridge, but as past fans of Hamish Macbeth we were also hoping to visit Plockton which is just a short distance away (but is a lot more popular than we had realised!).We were made very welcome when we arrived and found the owner to be very friendly and happy to offer ideas of places to walk and visit. We were not expecting to be able to eat our evening meal at the Hotel as my husband only likes very plain food and didn't want any sauces or spices. However, the owner was very accomodating and assured us that the meal could be tweaked accordingly so that it met with my husband's approval. This meant that I was able to have one of the nicest meals I've had in long time and it felt like a huge treat! And the bonus was that the views from the Dining Room are stunning. Our room was also lovely, with a very comfortable bed, and nice roomy shower room. The breakfast was fabulous and was a buffet style (with eggs cooked to order) which suited my husband no end (and we were first down to breakfast so were given a table right in front of the windows so that we could appreciate the view all over again). The lounge is another nice area and we enjoyed relaxing on the sofas with a drink from the bar on the two evenings that we stayed. If we return to the area in the future we would definitely consider booking more nights at the Tingle Creek Hotel!

Internally the hotel is immaculate and the facilities excellent, the food fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful and efficient. The lounge area is great with comfy sofas and games, books etc. The breakfast was good and as much as you wanted. A little mean with the toast is the only slight criticism.Tea tray in the room only had one portion of everything despite being a room for two, a bit sparse on the complimentary offerings for the price of the room.Externally the place could do with a tidy up and finishing off in places. The outside seating area is untidy and the decking unsafe, it looks still like a work in progress so may well improve in time.Overall we enjoyed it but the midges were a pain!

This is a great place to stay if your looking in the Kyle area. Some 3 miles from the town centre, £6 by taxi, it is walkable but a little hilly to get to.The hotel decor is very nice with very comfortable rooms. Views across the bay from the dining room are lovely and give marvellous sunsets, weather permitting. The staff are young, polite and very attentive. The food is excellent, dinner menu with a good choice, especially fish and seafood. Breakfast is hearty and well cooked, eggs to order the rest from a hot buffet. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Tingle Creek was a fantastic hotel in a stunning location overlooking the Loch. Andy Morag & all of their staff were so friendly & willing to give us advice on where to visit. The breakfast was amazing, the rooms spotlessly clean and the lounge was so comfortable & relaxing with board games. We played scrabble each night. The car park had plenty of parking spaces and there was outside decking where we sat each afternoon after returning from our day trip. We only stayed 3 nights but wished we had booked for a week. 10/10.

The lounge and bar area was very relaxing and dining area with the views was mesmerising. The food was absolutely gorgeous we had an evening meal too and it was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. Drinks were a little pricey but would still definatelyrecommend and come back!!

Had an overnight stop at Tingle Creek enroute home after being in the North West Highlands. What a marvellous place. Andy welcomed us to his establishment and it just got better and better. It’s a beautifully appointed small hotel with spotless rooms, wonderful staff, comfortable and unique surroundings and furnishings and, to cap it all, awesome food. The dinner menu we had would not have been out of place in a five star city establishment. I cannot praise the chef enough for the quality and presentation of our food. Thank you Andy and your team for making our quick stay a memorable one. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Tingle Creek to anyone looking for accommodation in the Kyle area together with a restaurant with food and a view to die for.

Whilst out of town away and not serving dinners Tuesday & Wednesday nights at the moment, we really enjoyed our stay. Older style accommodation that that had been renovated. It was like an old style hunting lodge with large windows to the sea, big fire place that would be great in winter and comfortable chairs to lounge back in and taken in the atmosphere of the place. Breakfast was very good. If you wanted a base for a few days just off the Isle of Skye then this would be a good stay.

Don't be put off by the rather uninteresting appearance of this hotel at thy gateway to Skye. It is a small well run family establishment where service is first class and friendly. The rooms are relatively small but well furnished and adequate. The dining and lounge areas are large and well appointed with good décor.Food is up to a very high standard and equates well with much more prestigious establishments. It is a pity that the restaurant is not open on every day of the week and it is worth checking this when booking.Other places to eat are available but do require some travel by car. A great little hotel for touring.

Although a little off the beaten track ,my mother and I found the accomodation very comfortable and well catered for . Staff were very friendly . The included breakfast was not something we expected and was lovely and fresh . Only downside was the lack of a lift and steep stairs ( after 2 knee replacements and a recent hip replacement stairs were a challenge for my mum) .

The lounge was a huge room with lots of comfy sofas and the art work throughout the hotel was top class. It was a great breakfast, good choice and excellent quality. The hotel is in a lovely position in a small hamlet, very quiet and peaceful looking over to Skye and Raasay. I would highly recommend a stay here and I'm sure I will be back at some point. An excellent base for touring with lots to see round about. This is marketed as a 3 star but I would say it more like a 4/5 star.

Comfy beds, great view, strong showers, wonderful staff. Andy at the front desk helped us with what to see on Isle of Skye and was always cheerful! Lucy was very friendly as well. Our dinner meal was oversized - we could have probably split entrees. Loved looking over the Loch. Only suggestion for improvement would be to get blackout blinds as the sun woke us early in the mornings.

The only negative we had was no television in lounge, we felt this would have been more sociable than us us all sitting in our room considering the euros and Wimbledon are both on but this is only our opinion other guests maybe prefer the quiet.

The Tingle Creek is located in the secluded village of Erbusaig. If you get the chance and depending from where you are coming, take the route via Applecross - it's truly stunning. We stayed in room #3 which was fairly spacious (especially the bathroom which was nice after all the tiny BnB-bathrooms). The staff was super friendly and helpful. We only decided to have dinner at the hotel because we didn't want to get in the car again after a long day on the road, but it turned out to be the perfect choice. The food was surprisingly good, with unusual dishes and distinguishedly prepared.

This hotel is in such a beautiful location overlooking the bay. We were warmly greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed a beautifully prepared and presented dinner with lots of local foods. Breakfast the next day was excellent with eggs cooked to order as well as an array of fresh fruits, yogurt and cereals. They also had a great hot buffet to complete the full Scottish breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom looked newly renovated and had a large bathtub as well as a shower. This is an excellent hotel for people who want to explore the beauty of the west coast, experience family hospitality and enjoy great food!

The Tingle Creek is in a peaceful location away from main roads, though getting there is not a problem. We were given a friendly and helpful welcome, and our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet but with eggs cooked to order. The only snag, losing one star, was that on arrival we were told that the restaurant didn't serve dinner on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Reviewer: Mr. B | Fri 8th May 2015 | 9 years ago
We had only 1 night stay at Tingle Creek, but in that short time we were very pleased with our experience. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the hotel bedrooms had recently undergone a complete refurbishment. 0ur bedrooms were at the back of the hotel and did not face the beautiful cove at the front, which would have been ideal had we stayed for longer. The hotel does not serve food on Tue and Wed evening so we only had breakfast which was very good.Staff were very helpful and friendly. 0ur only criticism was the lovely lounge area had no heating whatsoever on in the evening, and after returning fromour evening out after eating we had our nightcap drinks inthe cold.

We were travelling as q group of 12 and stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast for 2 days.Upon arrival we were greeted by Andy who immediately made us feel at ease with his welcoming manner and witty charm. The check in process was smooth and painless and we all found the rooms clean, comfortable, modern, and functional. The food presentation and quality was excellent with an extensive and varied menu.Although we had pre-chosen our evening meals there were some changes requested which was handled with no problem at all, everything was delicious and enjoyed by all.Our breakfasts were also delicious with a great choice and freshly prepared. The location of the hotel is stunning as well which does help but it is fair to say this hotel doesn’t need the location to survive, the quality of the rooms, meals and the atmosphere is plenty. Our only negative comment would be the sporadic internet connection. That said, as soon as we arrived Andy fully explained the situation with the internet providers and that it was short term and being fixed. It didn’t taint our stay in the slightest but I guess people rely on connections more these days.Andy’s local knowledge did compensate for the lack of internet searching. All in all a most excellent break and I would highly recommend the Tingle Creek to friends and family and will definitely be coming back.

There were 6 adults ranging from mid 50s to early 80s in age in our party and we were there for a long weekend. The hotel met ALL the requirements of each and everyone of us which was no mean feat! The accommodation was excellent(could have slept in the bath it was so comfortable although bed was too!)the food was locally sourced and tastefully cooked (dietary requirements were met without any fuss or trouble including a late night snack of the homemade key lime pie ) and the staff bent over backwards to help including offering sitting services for the older group members to let the younger ones have some time to themselves in the evening!Very peaceful hotel and surroundings which helped provide a good sound night's sleep. Ideal base for Skye and the Highlands. In fact enjoyed it so much that my wife and Ihave already made another reservation for a longer visit. Would recommend to anyone.

We have spent many a holiday in Wester Ross using our caravan with the children and then renting cottages and finally when we were on our own we would stay at the small Hotels in the area.We love the area and as this was our 58th Wedding anniversary we decided to come back up and after viewing the different hotels we decided on Tingle Creek. We were not disappointed as the hotel was the size we like and the rooms were excellent, very comfortable warm and nicely decorated, the en-suite was super. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly and we would certainly return and tell our friends about the hotel.Thank you for being so nice and for the bottle of wine.Would you believe the whisky shop in Fort William sold his last bottle of Caol Ila 10mins before we went in, Kind regards Ken & Shiela McFarlane

Travelled with another couple, arrived in the evening, were greeted by Chloe who looked after us with a very homely greeting which continued all evening. Breakfast the next morning was up there with the top breakfasts we have enjoyed throughout Europe, UK etc and the host unfortunately I didn't get his name, made us so welcome and was very entertaining. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the bedding was so comfortable. We would recommend the stay to everyone. Also our second day happened to be my birthday and at breakfast we were greeted with Champagne & Orange juice which started my special day on a high which continued throughout the day. Thankyou.

Tingle Creek was one of the true gems of our short holiday. We were treated like guests, not customers. Food was offered and served to us even though we'd arrive just a few minutes after their kitchen had closed. I left my wallet in the bar, but they held onto it until I discovered it missing in the morning and returned it with a smile. Good advice on the drive back to Inverness was given, and Tingle Creek was very accommodating about us having breakfast a little earlier than their usual serving time in order to keep us on our travel schedule. The rooms are neat, clean, and modern. The view is wonderful, and the hotel is quiet. I couldn't ask for more. We will surely return to Tingle Creek; it's a true gem of a hotel!

Had a lovely trip up to the Tingle Creek over the Easter break. Enjoyed our stay and were lucky enough to see some amazing sunsets from our hotel, especially the beer garden. The service was second to none with a warm and friendly atmosphere. We look forward to returning in the near future.

We stayed at the tingle creek hotel for 2 nights. From the very start of our stay we were made to feel very welcome as Andy booked us in and advised us ofthe local area. The room was a good size and very clean and had a great size bathroom. Walls were a little thin but it didn't spoil our R&R. Can't wait to go back for another visit. The food was also very good, fresh local produce cooked really well.

We were on our way to a sailing weekend and booked this because of location and good reviews. We were given a warm welcome, offered help with luggage, explained breakfast times etc The room was well appointed, cosy, spotlessly clean. We chose to have dinner from a short but seasonal menu. Views from the dining room are spectacular. Wine list was well priced, food was excellent - fresh langoustines were delicious. Sticky toffee pudding tasty, rich with dates but light and served with plenty of cream (or ice cream). Host Andy is welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place has a relaxed feel to it. After a wee dram and a good nights sleep we enjoyed a buffet breakfast with ample choice and freshly cooked eggs. We will return.

Tingle Creek was a great location from which to explore the area and Skye. A great owner/manager offered a fine welcome. Pity the restaurant isn't open every night.Beds rather narrow and mattress we had sloped toward edges. Would stay again!

We enjoyed a fantastic four day stay at Tingle Creek in July/August 2013. A warm welcome from a very hard working Andy and his team. A great restaurant with fine local produce. Very comfortable room with all the amenities you would expect. Nothing was too much trouble in this quiet but extremely well run hotel. It is a gateway to Skye with the Skye Bridge only minutes away but the surrounding area of Kyle is also on your doorstep ready to explore. We enjoyed ourselves immensely at Tingle Creek. Now, how about a free holiday after this review Andy?

Very nice and helpful staff, the rooms are big enough, the bed is just okay, but we were all the time on tour, so we didn`t use the Hotel too much, Breakfast was typical scottish, but the coffee was just undrinkable...all in all I can recomend the tingle creek and would come back.

The hotel has a great location as starting point to visit islands and the west coast of Scotland. Excellent parking facility. The view from the room was absolutely magnificent. The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful and entertaining. The dinner is fabulous. The range of whisky very good. As with many smaller hotels struggling a bit with breakfast, but one of the best we had in a small hotel. We are spoiled... The bedrooms are quite small but charming andcomfortable. Don't bring too many large bags. There is also no lift and moving the bags up and down the stairs may be a bit difficult if you are older and a bit less fit. Our three day stay was charming, we highly recommend this hotel and will return if we go back to the same location.

We enjoyed a two-night stay here and found virtually everything much to our liking. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was good, the beds clean and comfortable and the setting simply unbeatable. Our only criticism would be the bathroom; the shower wasn't very good, there was hardly anywhere to put things down and the naked lightbulb didn't do much for the ambience!

This was an off the cuff visit at the last moment and for only one night. This has to be one of the best small establishments we have stayed at, the rooms are all you need, the views are to die for and the food is great. The staff bend over backwards to assist with nothing too much trouble. The only 'Gripe' my wife had was at me for only booking one night. We shall return.

Tingle Creek Hotel is set in an amazingly beautiful and unspoilt section of coastline looking out to sea. The welcome is warm as the glow of the many varieties of whisky to be had. We were made to feel part of the family, who indeed run it as a family business. If you enjoy good cuisine, we can recommend the excellent menu, especially the locally sourced sea food. We experienced the best 'fish and chips' here we've ever tasted. The beer battered fish was light and succulent a must to have if you stop here
