The Hamlet of Erbusaig
The Tingle Creek Hotel lies in the picturesque hamlet of Erbusaig hardly touched by the passage of time. The cluster of houses in the village looks positively idyllic, not to mention the views overlooking Erbusaig bay.
Erbusaig is gaelic for "Erb's Bay" who was believed to be a viking who landed here many centuries ago.To see images of Erbusaig in the early 20th Century, please click here.
The location of Erbusaig is ideal for exploring the local area. Plockton is only 4 miles away, famous for the setting of the TV series "Hamish Macbeth". Whilst there, taking a sail on one of Callum's Seal Trips, is an experience that you cannot afford to miss.
It is only a five minute drive to the Isle of Skye bridge, which is a gateway to many wonderful sights and attractions from Dunvegan Castle to the Talisker Distillery.
If you are a keen walker, then experience first hand the 'Cuillins of Skye', the 'Torridon Mountains', the 'Cluanie Ridge' or 'The Five Sisters of Kintail'. Do not panic, if this seems too energetic then there are other gentler walks that boast fabulous views.
